ON THE WEB: THE PROJECT APOLLO ARCHIVE

It's over thirty years since humans last visited the Moon. I guess some of you weren't even born then! If the current plans come to fruition, we may get back there in twelve years or so. In Fed, we set foot (or equivalent) on other planets regularly without thinking twice, but in real life, travelling to the moon is still a very big deal.

The Project Apollo archive is a repository for information and images of all the Apollo moon missions - and it's certainly an exhaustive collection! The pictures include various stages of assembling the rockets, the training process the astronauts went through, as well as the more spectacular shots of the actual lunar landings.

The site doesn't just include still pictures; there are video files too, showing all aspects of the missions.

If you're looking for something a bit more interactive, there's a lunar landing simulator that lets you try your hand at touching down on the moon's surface safely.

All in all, this is an amazing site, containing so much valuable material. The internet excels in making archive material available at the click of a mouse. Take advantage of it by going to the Project Apollo Archive.
