WACKY WORDS Thursday February 23 by Squeeky Tonight was a special edition of Wacky Words in honour of the Winter Olympics. The theme of the night was countries that were in the top ten of the medal count, and Lynnea correctly guessed that link between all the words offered up to be converted into wacky phrases. The first word of the night was "Norway". Southgnte and Gandroid tied for the lead for getting votes. With the second word being "Canada", Lynnea walked away with the votes with her phrase, "Can't androids notice a darn apple?". For most of the words, Lynnea and Gandroid went back and forth, swapping the lead, right until the final word. This was "Sweden", and Gandroid pulled ahead with his phrase: "Sure! We envy droids even now!". By the time I added up the scores Fancy came in third with 4 points, Lynnea came in second with 12 points and Gandroid came in first with 14 points. Congratulations to the winners and thanks to everyone who took part or who watched the fun. Join me next week for Fed Word Scramble and then in two weeks for another Wacky Words - that's Thursdays at 10.00pm eastern. |
