STAR CHAMBER by Freya Getting the message through to ibgames Ive noticed an increasing number of players asking if their messages have reached us or why they didnt get a reply from us. The answer is that if you do not send messages correctly and use the subject line of your email properly then your message may get missed. 1. All emails should be sent to feedback@ibgames.com Make no mistake, if you send your email anywhere else, you take your chances on it being received by the correct person and not ending up in a junk mail filter. And if you just talk to someone on Fed2 Staff in the game, theres a very good chance we wont get the message or well just say "tell them to email feedback". 2. An INFORMATIVE subject line is critical Never leave the subject line blank. Blank subject line mail usually gets filtered out into a junk folder and we probably will never see it. Start your subject with "Fed2" we know immediately that your email is not junk and so do our mail filters. This is a major help for you and us. Try to make your subject directly relate to what you are emailing us about. Dont just fill it in "hi" or "a problem". Help us spot if your email requires quick action or is just a suggestion or comment. If you lost your password, put that in the subject line, ie Fed2 lost password Jack. Or if its a serious bug or exploit, how about: Fed2 Urgent Serious Bug. Other things you can do to get quicker, better responses to your messages to ibgames: 1. Always include your FED CHARACTER NAME. If you dont tell us who you are, we might not be able to help you right away. 2. Send your email from the email address on your Fed2 account. If your email address has changed - update it in the game! (Type 'HELP EMAIL' for details how to do this.) 3. Include a brief factual description of any problem you are reporting. Its usually useful to send us a clip or log of what you are reporting, but please do not send us your entire log! We dont need to see the details of your entire day in Fed2 including romantic tightbeams and commodity exchange displays. 4. If you are asking something technical, tell us what front-end you are using. Is it FedTerm? If not, what front-end? What kind of computer? And never send us your password. We dont need to know it and we dont want to know it. Your password should be kept private only you should know it. No one from ibgames or Fed2 staff will ever ask for your password! We do encourage players to email us because we want to help players who need help, we do want your suggestions, etc. But we want to get the message, so you need to help make sure it gets to us. |
