CRASH LOGS ARE USEFUL Fed II crashed again this morning, which is very frustrating for players and also for us. We always ask players who are in the game at the time of a crash to mail their game logs into feedback@ibgames.com, because they are useful when trying to find out what caused a crash. Sometimes, the logs mean that Alan can find out right away what the problem is, and fix it. But not always. Even when the logs don't show anything obvious, they are important. We save the logs into a file for that particular crash, and then if the game crashes again Alan can refer back to the logs for previous crashes and check for similarities. The logs you send in therefore become part of a statistical analysis that can help to track down the bug that's making the game fall over. That's why it's really important that you do send in your log of what you were doing in the time leading up to a crash - even if you don't think what you were doing was relevant. |
