FED WORD SCRAMBLE

Thursday January 19
by Fancy-Fancy

I filled in as guest host for Squeeky in tonight's edition of Word Scramble, and eight players joined me on the channel. Edara, Catspaws, Prometheus, Ferreri, Robius, Occy, Saxon, and Kalandra all tuned in to play or watch. I went over the rules for those who needed them, and when there were no remaining questions on how to play, we began the game.

Catspaws scored the first five points of the game, with only the last one involving a hint. Prometheus then got on the scoreboard, unscrambling "absel dorwmcr" into "word scramble". Catspaws successfully unscrambled "obcblu fefe" before "oiarStS emrnasuvu" stumped our players long enough that they asked for hints. Prometheus finally became the first to spell it correctly to take that point. Robius and Catspaws quickly solved words 9 and 10, giving Catspaws a 7-2-1 lead at the half.

Catspaws unscrambled word #11 for what turned out to be her final point of the night. Kalandra got on the board by solving "nRdigderouU draon" and "mavCoNp", with Edara unscrambling "oosrpsn" in between. Scramble #15 was a long one, and I made it worth 2 points because of the difficulty. And indeed it proved as difficult as I suspected it would be. I finally gave out the hint of "former fink", and Edara soon unscrambled "pcglhno rres tMi EMsmeerie" into its solution, with Saxon commenting "Blasphemy!", perhaps to the solution, perhaps to the hint. Prometheus unscrambled #16 rather quickly, and then "rWenrgeeHes esaiohsbu" as others were starting to request hints. The last three words went rather quickly, with Kalandra, Saxon, and Edara solving them for the points.

I added up the points, and our final scores tonight were: Catspaws 8, Prometheus 4, Edara 4, Kalandra 3, Robius 1, Saxon 1. Congratulations to Catspaws, winner of tonight's Word Scramble. Tune in again on Groundhog Day, February 2, for the next edition of Word Scramble. Squeeky should be back to host Wacky Words on January 26.
