FOUNDERS DAY PARADE AND BAR CRAWL

Sunday January 15
by Catspaws

Last Sunday was a special day, as the first planet owner rank was officially launched. To celebrate, we held a parade, and partied through the night.

Founders were asked to create a float that was in some way indicative of their planets and five answered the call. The crowds gathered in Earth's orbit to watch the parade, and roared their approval of the floats as they appeared. (The kitty's float was better than the Dryad goddess's, of course.)

The kitty's float was perched on the back of her feline-shaped spaceship and was loaded with playing kittens, catnip, and other fun items from the Chrysoberyl system. In the center, of course, was a large litter box.

Zand's float followed the kitty's from a safe distance, and proudly displayed the Smugglers Guild flag. Perhaps the GA needs to investigate Zandzabar more thoroughly, and learn just what they are smuggling...

Zand's float was followed by the entry from Stormy, which was indeed a smelly entrant. Jdcollins needs to watch those biochips. In his wake was the brave little Ferreri who was invited to join the parade. Her spaceship had been painted "DO IT AGAIN SAM" on the sides.

In a brazen attempt to curry the favor of the audience, the bubble goddess brought her bubble float into earth orbit and tossed out candy, setting off fireworks that scared the kitties on the Catseye float. On the back of her float was the blasphemous sign, Goddesses Rule, and Cat Drool!

Following the parade, we all converged on Dryad where a dozen people (more or less) tried to cram into the hot tub, and where the kitty got a new towel for her collection. Robius followed her from planet to planet trying to snatch back the towel, but was unsuccessful.

From Dryad we crawled to Marina, but Djentsch chased us away, so we went to Maroon, where the classy Roger was our host. Discussion there got technical, with Roger doing an impromptu planetary management class. The man is brilliant, and should do classes more often.

We spent the greatest part of the evening on Maroon before finishing off by going to Catseye where some of us played in the shuttle and the laundry chute.

All in all, this was one of the biggest parties we've had in a long time, and thanks to everyone who celebrated with us. Now, where can I hide this towel...?
