FEDERATION 2 WORKBENCH
THE BIOLOGICAL STOCK PLANET
When you reach the rank of Gengineer, you can add a biological asteroid to your system. You can design the map from scratch, you can use one of the standard stock planets, or you can customize this biological stock planet.

Customizing Laboratory for your own system
1. Decide on the name you want to use for your bio planet. It must be a name that is not already being used for planets or systems in the game. Example: planet Double Helix.
2. Rename the planet file laboratory.loc so that the filename matches your planet name. For example, doublehelix.loc - all in lower case, with no spaces.
3. Rename the message file so that the filename matches your planet name. Example: doublehelix.msg - all in lower case, with no spaces.
4. Make sure both the map file and the message file are in the same folder as the rest of the files for your star system.
5. Load your space map into the location editor from the workbench and add a new location for the orbit of the bio planet. Don't forget to set the Space property for the location. Make a note of the location number of the new orbit.
6. Save the planet map.
7. Load the new bio planet map so you can customize the planet information. The panel on the right of the map shows the map title, Laboratory, which you need to change so it matches the name of your planet. Example: Double Helix.
8. Change the orbit loc # entry so it matches the name of your system. For the Laboratory map, it will say Bio.Bio Space.461. Replace 'Bio.Bio' with your system name, and change the number to the new orbit location that you added to the space map. Example: Newstar.Newstar Space.465.
9. Save the space map.
