THE FED2 WORK SCHEDULE

Updated December 29, 2007

Fed2 is still in development, with just over half of the anticipated ranks coded so far. Alan Lenton, the game designer and programmer, has a great long list of all the things that remain to be done to Fed - from the core necessities such as the code for the next rank, to the non-essentials like ship fighting.

To give you some idea of what we have in store for you, here's some of the items on Alan's To Do list. Note that this is subject to change without notice.

The following items are assigned to the current work schedule for development:

  • Commands to see the make-up of efficiency and approval/disaffection
  • Command to dismantle planetary infrastructure builds
  • Auto-promote for POs who have done a certain number of builds

The following items have been approved for development and are waiting their turn to be placed on the work schedule for development:

  • Object and Event editor - to allow Technocrats to add objects and events to their planets
  • FedTerm upgrade - add planet display page. Add more sound effects, along with ability for players to add sounds to their planets
  • Change the way objects work so they do not vanish at reset if held in a player's inventory
  • Charms - providing a way for players to take them off and store them in a trophy cabinet on their planets.
  • Slithy eggs - worth one third of a slithy - with the ability to split a slithy certificate into three; this will allow POs to hand out them out as incentives, and they can also be used as event prizes
  • Tesla upgrades - add even more more checking facilities
  • Mail facilities so planet owners can leave messages for their factory owners
  • Mobiles that move, including space mobiles
  • Ship fighting!
