IDIOT'S GUIDE TO FED2 - PLANETARY CONSTRUCTION

REQUESTING A STOCK PLANET

If you don't want to design a planet from scratch, you can use one of the stock planets instead. There are six designs: beach, ice, rock, habitat (that's a space station), fire and candy. You can walk though holographic representations of these planets by visiting Magrathea.

If you use a Windows computer you can download the Stock Planet Builder program. You tell the program the names you want to use for your system and planet, and which of the stock planets you want, and it will make the necessary changes to the files so they are ready to be submitted.

Alternatively, you can download the stock planet files and then use the Workbench to modify the information that refers to the planet and system name. A checklist of the things that you need to change is on that page You then submit the files as normal.

If there is a reason that you cannot use the Workbench at all, because you don't have a Windows or Mac computer, or you are partially sighted or blind and cannot use this kind of software, then you can ask us to do the work for you. Email feedback@ibgames.com and ask for details.
