PLANETARY INFRASTRUCTURE BUILDS

EDUCATION BUILDS

Schools build - a nannybot teaches small children.

Schools

Description:
Schools are the backbone of the education system, ensuring that future citizens are educated up to a minimum level. Without a supply of students with basic literacy and numeracy, all higher forms of education are impotent.

Effect:
Schools can be allocated as general schools, which are required for resource and higher level planets, or as college feeders, which are a prerequisite for building higher education facilities.

The number of schools required increases with each economic level. Agricultural worlds do not need any. Resource planets need 2 general schools, Industrial planets need 3, Technical 4, and so on. Failure to build the necessary general schools will result in disaffection.

Four schools are required for each higher education facility (except for biological research lab, which has special requirements).

Duration:
Schools can be built at any time.

When you build a school it is assigned as a general school, if it is needed for the planet's economic level, otherwise, it is assigned as unallocated. When you build a college, the necessary schools will be allocated as college feeders.

Command:
'BUILD SCHOOL'. You can remove the build with 'DEMOLISH SCHOOL'.
