SYSTEM DISPLAY CABINET

The system display cabinet is a macro quantum object. There is only one per system, but it appears to be on all landing pads in the system simultaneously. In fact, what is actually happening is that this object has solutions for Schrodinger's equation that give it an equal probability of being on each landing pad.

When an observer sees it the probability function collapses into classical mechanics and, in accordance with the rules of quantum mechanics, the probability of finding the cabinet on the observer's landing pad becomes 100%. Once the observer stops looking at the cabinet, it elides from a classical state back to a quantum state, again appearing to be on all landing pads in the system.

For reasons not fully understood a small number of planets appear not to have a cabinet. According to Schrodinger's cat, that is because the cabinet is probably not there.
